Woodwind Instruments
Each instrument is carefully examined upon delivery from the supplier to check for any visual defects such as scratches, dents and cracks. The instrument is then play tested to determine what work is required. The set up of an instrument would generally involve the re-seating of any pads that are not closing securely to a light finger pressure, regulation of the mechanism to give the most immediate response, adjusting of vent heights to gain the best sound production and the balancing of all springs to give an overall smooth and immediate feel to the instrument.

We are more than happy to adjust the set up of an instrument to suit each individual player.

Brass Instruments
Each instrument is carefully examined upon delivery from the supplier to check for any visual defects such as scratches and dents. Tuning slides are greased and checked to ensure that they are running smoothly and evenly. Valves are oiled and checked for smooth and even operation. Rotor valves are oiled and if strung, the strings are checked and re tied where necessary. On rotor valves with mechanical arms the arm alignment is checked and all moving parts oiled to ensure quite operation.

Wood, Wind and Reed aim to make buying and owning an instrument easy and enjoyable. We choose the best products available to save you time and money. All instruments are tested and adjusted before sale and our reputation for pre and post sales service is the envy of our trade.
